The Goode Life Education foundation was established in honor of Justin 'Jake' Goode who graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1991. Jake Goode was the son of Bill and Linda Young. He was born and raised in St. Augustine, starting out at RB Hunt elementary school and ending up at St. Augustine High School.
Jake always had a love for sports and athletics. As a child he was a surfer, tennis player, football player, and many other things. Jake then attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Medicine. Jake started a very successful career in heavy equipment sales after college. During his heavy equipment years he lived in several cities including Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando and eventually back in St. Augustine. Jake and his long term girlfriend Sandra Etheridge were married in November of 2004. Jake and Sandra welcomed their first born child Von in June of 2008.
Jake always kept his love for sports and personal fitness a priority. In 2008 Jake accomplished his dream of opening his own Martial Arts gym Zen-Jitsu. A year later at the age of 35 our beautiful, well rounded, loving Jake passed away from a sudden heart attack from a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyophathy. In his memory we have chosen to hold this annual fundraiser. All proceeds are awarded to St. Augustine High School students as an academic or athletic scholarship given in Justin 'Jake' Goode's name.
Jakes favorite quote: Make it a good day, Don't leave it up to chance!
